Make Your First Quote
This is the fast way through SignQuote: pick a sign type, change the few things that matter, and download a priced, branded PDF. Start to finish, it takes about two minutes and under ten clicks.
The trick is that SignQuote does the heavy lifting for you. The moment you pick a sign type, every field is already filled in with sensible defaults, so you only touch the handful that change from job to job.
Click New quote
Open the Quotes screen. The button is in the top right. Click it and you start a fresh quote.
(If your shop is brand new and the list is empty, you’ll see the same New quote button right in the middle of the screen.)
Pick a sign type
You’ll see one question — What kind of sign is this? — and two big cards. Click one:
- Channel letters — lit storefront letters (front-lit or halo).
- Dimensional letters — non-lit cut or cast letters.
That’s your one big decision. As soon as you click, SignQuote opens the quote with everything pre-filled, so you’re already most of the way there. Don’t worry about getting it perfect — you can switch the type later by clicking the other card at the top of the form.
Change just what matters
Up at the top of the form, in the Sign section, set the three things that change on every job:
- What does the sign say? — type the letters, like
CAFE. - How many letters? — use the plus and minus stepper.
- How tall are the letters? (inches) — use the stepper.
Watch the right side of the screen: the price updates instantly with every change. Everything else — material, lighting, mounting, wall type — already has a smart default, so you can leave it alone for now.
Type the Customer name
Scroll down to the Customer section and fill in the Customer name. This is the only required field. Until you enter it, the Download PDF button stays greyed out and you’ll see a small Enter a customer name first reminder.
(Company, email, phone, and job address are all optional — add them if you have them.)
Download the PDF
In the price panel on the right, click Download PDF. You get a clean, branded quote on your shop’s letterhead, saved as a file named like quote-1003.pdf.

The price, while you work
On the right side, the Quote total is always front and center in big bold type, and it re-figures itself every time you change something — no “calculate” button to hit.
For channel letters you’ll also see a small colored Margin badge (green, amber, or red) next to the total. It’s a quick health-check on the price. Full details are on Understanding the price.
